Project SIGHT is out of Durham Tech's Opticianry program. In conjunction with community partners, Project SIGHT provides free eye exams and prescription eyewear to children and adults of underinsured/low income households in Durham County.

The North Carolina Community Schools Coalition helps schools partner with local communities to provide support services, like health and social programs, so students and families can thrive.

The daily mission of Prevent Blindness NC is to prevent blindness and preserve sight through direct services and programs, education and advocacy. Prevent Blindness trains and certifies our volunteers to perform vision screenings in NC schools.

VMC is proud to serve as a practicum site for students seeking their Masters in Public Health in Maternal and Child Health. The Gillings School of Public Health seeks to improve public health, promote individual well-being and eliminate health inequities in North Carolina and around the world. 

In Her Vision is a non-profit, dedicated to both enhancing the vision of women and children in under-served communities and providing tools for self-empowerment. Our team works with an optometrist from In Her Vision.​​​​

Book Harvest provides an abundance of books and ongoing literacy support to families and their children from birth and serves as a model for communities committed to ensuring that children are lifelong readers and learners. We are thankful for the many books they provide at our school events.

We are a proud learning site for students in the DukeEngage program run by Duke's Kenan Institute for Ethics. DukeEngage provides an opportunity for students to engage in a summer of fully-funded immersive community service.
